Schools- Schooling is provided at K1-12 in nearby (8 miles) Waldport. Buses transport students from several spots within Yachats, to and fro. Waldport High School has one of the highest rankings for the percentage of graduates going on to higher education in the State.

Hospitals and medical support- Newport, 25 miles north on 101 is a Samaritan hospital and provides excellent care. A personal opinion. The Yachats Health Clinic is a rarity in any village this size and offers care from both an MD and Nurse Practitioner. Nearby Waldport has a Clinic also. Very good dentistry is available in Waldport, as well as Newport. The volunteer fire departments in both Yachats and Waldport are outstanding with the ability and caliber of EMT capabilities. Personal experience speaking.

Libraries- The Yachats Library is excellent, fully staffed by great volunteers, open 6 days a week and is WIFI as well as having 3 onsite online computers for search work. The newly remodeled Waldport facility offers much the same service.

Churches-Yachats offers The Yachats Community Presbyterian Church and The Yachats Baptist Church. Waldport offers a complete spectrum of churches.

Service Clubs and Civic Groups-The Yachats Ladies Club, going strong after over 80 years, the Yachats Lions Club, over 40+ years, numerous smaller groups offering very diverse direction as musical, stage, writing and many artistic outlets. There are many public support, non-profit groups for the Library, the Commons (our civic center), the Log Church Museum and Youth Activities.

Government-Both Waldport and Yachats use the Mayoral and City Council style of local governance supported by numerous commissions.
