Refunds!!! I am not receiving your requests
for refunds folks. I only have about 30 in backlog and it is much
more efficient to process a 100 or so at a time. Get your SASE in
the mail.
Evidently I had a serious “misspoke” on my last posting.
When I said that there was one very outstanding entry that may have been
the hands down winner I neglected to say that this was a personal opinion
only. I had no voice in the voting so my opinion counts for nada.
Needless
to say the vocal minority once again has swayed the line and I will only
ask for permission from the entrants to photograph their work to make
into a poster for my wall at the Yachats house. Their names will be on
the poster (hopefully) and it will be passed along to the next owner(s)
of the house.
I am dreadfully sorry if I offended anyone by my remarks.
I hope your dreams go on forever. There was no winner of the contest,
all your entries are assigned to the ether.

We have had hundreds of inquires regarding access to the top
entries in the contest.
I think that question has been answered by some
of the entrants themselves.
We have had requests for some of the entrants
to have their entries returned in that the contest did not have a successful
completion, therefore the contest has no claim to the entries.
This is
true. There was no exchange for the entry and therefore no contract.
All entrants that want their individual entries returned will have an
opportunity to claim them. I have to work on a process to handle this, AFTER we
get all the refunds completed.
There was one exceptional entry that we
will attempt to have photos retained for any one to see. Had the contest
been a success there is little doubt that this would have been the winner.
The
entrants have requested that they pick up their entry and we will certainly
accommodate them when the refunds are completed.
I will have more regarding
this subject later. It is too bad that everyone could not have had the
opportunity to view some of these very creative works, but alas, not
to be. I guess some beautiful creations are to be hidden away from the
masses.
The refunds are moving far better now that Sharon has agreed to
help. She has far better handwriting and is much faster than I.
Please remember to include your entry # and a SASE. I
am getting far too many requests for refunds with no information
other than a name. This takes far too much time from my efforts
on behalf of those who are complying and understand that I am sadly
lacking in physic abilities.
The rental status of the house is almost
completed and we have had a great response from the many that have toured
during our open house events the past 7 months.

VACATION RENTAL STARTS SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, 2008.
The contest refunds are ramping up this week, I have gained some processing
help. I hope to have all the requests for refunds down to a five (5)
day turn around by this weekend.
Last Saturday I neglected to take my
checkbook and entry log with me to the house to accommodate folks that
wanted to come by and pick up their refunds while we were holding open
house. I am very sorry if I inconvienced to the one couple from Salem.
Big
change on this offer!!! We will no longer be holding open house in that
we are now setting the house up as a vacation rental. This starts this
weekend.
The address for refunds is the same as the contest, P.O. Box 245,
Yachats, OR 97498.
Refunds will only be available by SASE, effective immediately. Please
send your entry # with your SASE. If you cannot locate your entry # write
or email me with the date of your entry/the date of your check/a copy
of your cancelled check will also help. I have to have some pertinent
data to get you your refund(s). Just sending me your name will not
get it done.
We are having the house handled by SEA-NIK Vacation
Rentals in Yachats.

We have been very busy getting the house set up
to accommodate up to 10 guests.
The house will have the hot tub available
and of course is going to be pet friendly.
There is parking available
for at least 6 cars and a boat outside, one car in the garage.

The refunds have started (barely). Much
to my chagrin the bank miss-printed all the first 600 checks and they
have yet to arrive. I have lost a week in getting the refunds out other
than some few very urgent ones for which I am using counter checks.
Please
understand that I want to get this job completed as soon as possible
just as you want your refund.
Please hold your SASE another week, as I
already have several hundred waiting. I will get another 20 counter checks
to cover this weekend for those local folks that drop in at our open
house for their refunds.
Sharon just pulled the car out of the garage
and we have a flat tire! This has not been a good week.

Update for July 26, 2008
The refunds for your entry fees has started. For those whose
entry # are from 0001-0300, please send your SASE to the original address;
win-this-home.com, Inc. Refunds, PO Box 245, Yachats , 97498.I will take
at least a week to get those out, after I get them. Starting on August
1 those with entry #s 0301-0700 please send your SASE in. I should have
the process working well by August 15 so all higher entry #s may be mailed
in after that date. You must include your entry # and the name/address
as it appeared on your entry. If you send your SASE in early I will put
it in the back of the list. I am trying to get this done in an equitable
fashion and line jumpers don’t help.
I will attempt to
get all refunds out within 5 working days of receipt.. If I have any
snags in this schedule I will post it on the web site.
My plan is
to have all refunds out by the end of August. I hope.
There have been
some number of entrants that have requested that we donate their refund
to a local charity. I am contacting our two favorites to ensure that
they are acceptable to this. As soon as I get a response I will post
to the web site.
I will ask the charities to send you a receipt of the
donation in your name. Comments??
For those local folks who would like
to stop by the Yachats house during our open house each weekend, 12-4PM,
I will write your refund check at that time. I will require you
to have your entry # and a photo ID with the entry address.
”What’s up with the Yachats house?”
Our original plans to move back to the Yachats house have changed.
It would be too big a project to undertake while trying to get the contest
closed down. We will be setting the Yachats house up as a vacation rental
with sleeping for at least 10. The hot tub will be available. We have
put in a new deck out back around the hot tub. We plan to make the house
a “pet friendly” rental.
We do not have the house ready at this time but will post it on the web
site at the earliest time.
I would like to thank all of those of you that have been so positive
about the contest and our attempt to find a winner for the house.
